17 Hide Away Concealer Cream

I have been using this product for a while now (say 3 months) and I have to say I am very impressed. It doesn’t crease or slide and has a reasonable medium coverage considering it is only £3.99. The colour range isn’t amazing but I seen to be quite lucky as ‘Fair’ suits me fine. I use it every day to cover any discolouration around my eyes and nose and it works fine! It’s weird because I have never really considered using 17 products before, they are so affordable I never thought they would work!
Have you ever tried this? What do you think?

OOTD

I don’t think it’s bold to say that it has been certified skirt weather the past couple of days in most of the country, which I am very much enjoying. Today I wore a skirt I bought from New Look in post-Christmas sales; the shirt is also from New Look but several years ago and is short sleeved. I really like this outfit but I feel maybe it’s just a bit too dressy for everyday wear ... oh well!
I hope everyone’s having a good week : ) please let me know if there’s any posts you would like to see.

My Weekend...

Only a very short post today as I didn’t get up to too much this weekend, went into town on Saturday for a mooch, spotted this dress, tried it on, and fell in love! It’s a really filtering shape that I think would work with any size and is easy to dress up or down. Not sure which colour to get? Initially, I thought I liked the pink one better as it is more wearable for the daytime but then maybe I should be daring, what do you think? They’re only £15 in Topshop at the moment, which I think is a pretty good price, especially for Topshop!... so I’d nab one quick if I were you - I’m going back on Tuesday to get mine!
Whilst in town, I got hungry (as usual!), went into Boots and found this little crispie cereal bar for 60p, which was amazing, and only 93 calories ... hence, there’s none left! Definitely getting these again, they’re small enough to just fill that hole.
Also, I was reading the Times on Thursday (because I’m a bit of a geek!) and noticed this little mistake which made me chuckle!
Hope everyone had a really good weekend, what did you get up to?

Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter

It was my friend’s birthday last week so, naturally as quite an organised present buyer I went out the week before and bought her a present. However, I forgot I had bought her a present so went out and bought her another ... still not realising my mistake I gave her the second present, came home and realised what I had done, discovering that I now had a spare Body Shop gift set, which I gave as a little present to myself!

The gift set included a bar of soap, hand gel and a lip butter – which was the stand out product! It’s really moisturising on the lips and smells amazing, but I imagine it would be the sort of smell that you either love or hate! I tend to put it on first thing in the morning and last thing at night to keep my lips moisturised all the time. I have to admit I wasn’t surprised to like this; all of the Body Shop’s products are great and I don’t think they get the attention online deserving.

Have you tried any of the Body Shop products? What do you think?

Stripes and scarfs

(Close up of the scarf)

Since my last (and first) OOTD post got a really positive response, I thought I might as well do another! Today I’m wearing a stripy top from New Look I found in the sale post-Christmas with a skirt, again New Look (is anyone spotting a pattern?!) from last year. The belt came with the skirt, which I actually think is really cute! The scarf was a birthday present from a friend and I think it is my favourite scarf, it always adds colour to an outfit and has such a pretty pattern! The bag is from Miss Selfridge again some years ago – sorry all my clothes seem to old, but then I guess there’s no point in buying new if the old still looks good! I have been really liking the bag recently. It’s not a particularly usual colour but I think that’s what I quite like!

What are you wearing today? Anything special?

My weekend...

1.     Needed new tissues (suffering with a half cold at the moment, not ill enough to stay at home but just so that it is annoying and I have to blow my nose every 30 seconds!) I think this box is surprisingly cute for Wilko's ... nope, just me that's that crazy then!

2.     Laughed so much when my cat decided to sit like this! I’ve obviously done something wrong!

3.     Pretty candles from my friend the other week ... I don’t want to burn them because their just so cute!

4.     Work : (

5.     Dinner, Tummy = : ) Waste line & skin = : (

How was your weekend? Do anything special for Mother’s Day or otherwise?

New Shoes

I got these shoes from New Look about a month ago and I have been wearing them quite a lot recently. At first they rubbed quite a lot, but then I wore them around the house a bit with tights and that seemed to break them in. I really like them- they’re a nice colour and nice and flat for everyday wear but I do find that my wide feet tend to fall out the sides a little bit; which is not very attractive! I always go to New Look for shoes, I like the quality of New Look shoes but I never feel they are made for people with difficult feet! Oh well, I guess that life!
Where do you go for shoes? Any recommendations for my wide feet?
P.S. Apologies for the insides of the shoes, as I said I have worn them quite a bit!

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara

(before)
(... and after)

Recently, my Mum went into boots looking for brown mascara, but instead she came out with black, so gave it to me. I have been testing it out the last couple of days and so far I have been impressed with the results. It’s a volumising mascara so it clumps quite easily but I actually don’t mind that. The formula initially comes off as the same as any other but it is definitely buildable if you what really bold full lashes. As far as removing goes it comes off quite easily with my Simple kind to skin cleansing wipes but then the one I have isn’t waterproof so I sort of expected to.
Overall, I’m quite impressed, although its nothing special a sort of ‘done that, been there, got the t-shirt’ product, standard formula, standard bristle brush, standard packaging. Don’t think I will be repurchasing, although I do generally like Max Factor mascaras – this one’s just not anything special. Yet, it is around £7.99, so it is one of their cheaper mascaras.
What’s your all-time favourite mascara?

OOTD - Green dress

This dress is from A Wear and came with the belt I’m wearing, but I bought it in the summer so not sure if they will still have it. I really love the colour of the dress, shame about the quality of the belt, but I guess when this one gets worn out I can just replace it. The long necklace is from Accessorize a couple of years ago and the short one is just a simple rose pendant from Giles and Brother.
I’m really looking forward to wearing dresses more now the weather’s improving (cross your fingers!); I seem to have been living in jeans recently and it’s just so boring.
What are you excited about for spring and summer when/if it ever gets here!?

Blood

Beware: prepare for some awkward up-nose shots!

(Note: I not actually bald, hair was just up in this photo!)

I have been admiring the Max Factor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tints for so time now and decided to make the plunge and go for it considering I had quite a lot of Boots Advantage points. I went for number 09 Passion Red.
I’m very happy with the result. The product applies easily and is difficult to mess up! You are left with a matte, long lasting finish – exactly what it says on the packaging! I have to admit that it does leave the lips a little dry and chapped so I can’t wear this for too many days in a row, but I feel that is a worthy price to pay.

I ‘m really loving bright red lips at the moment, I think it looks super polished and composed, does anyone have any suggestions of other good red lip products?
